Qtask Unveils Outlook Integration, Reports and More at Web 2.0 Expo SF
Qtask includes daily office functions such as Calendar, Discussions, Tasks, Files and Contacts all in one place and available from any computer or browser-enabled phone. Qtask adds Web 2.0 features such as Wikis that serve as a central knowledge base and RSS Syndication, which enables users to broadcast information outside the group when necessary. This comprehensive 'virtual office' is presented though an intuitive user interface and is fully searchable.
With Qtask, all actions are transparent to the project team and permanently logged for future reference. Each assigned task must be accepted, forming a formal agreement between the task assigner and doer. Responsibilities and expectations are clearly defined, leading to a new level of individual and team accountability, and a significant increase in efficiency. This same transparency makes it easy to review the status of projects or overall company well-being, which allows for better planning and the reduction of overhead costs.
The newly integrated features provide even more ways to quickly review the status of a project or overall health of a company, collaborate with the team on documents as well as communicate from within the Qtask environment. These features include:
- Outlook Integration - Outlook calendars can now sync with Qtask. Simply feed one into the other, appointments will be safely stored and accessible from anywhere. Contacts can also be imported and emails are available via the email reader within Qtask, making it that much easier to do everything without having to leave the Qtask environment.
- Tasks on Calendar - As part of Qtask's forward movement towards Calendar-based living, Tasks can now be attached to the Calendar, making it easier to identify things that are critical for today or next week.
- Reports - Qtask's new Reports offer many ways to review the overall heath of projects, evaluate resources, and more. Quickly get a top-down view or get as much detail as desired.
- File lock - Qtask now includes File lock to ensure that, when requested, only one user can make changes to a file at a time, or that no alterations are made to 'permanent' documents except by the document's owner.
"We've built Qtask to help businesses and groups work more efficiently while adding the transparency, accountability and flexibility they need, said Russell Mix, Qtask Co-founder and CEO. Being web-based, we have the freedom to add features and services that streamlines the process and helps them get things done from anywhere, which in turn helps them reduce overhead costs and improves their bottom line."
