HERNDON, Va., May 2 -The Northern Virginia Technology Council is proud to announce the finalists for the 2006 Greater Washington Technology CFO Awards. The Tenth Annual CFO Awards banquet, jointly hosted by NVTC and the Tech Council of Maryland with participation from the DC Tech Council, recognizes Chief Financial Officers and financiers for extraordinary achievement and excellence in promoting the development of the Greater Washington region's technology community.
An independent panel of community leaders has announced finalists for each of the following categories: Public Company CFO of the Year; Private Company CFO of the Year; and Financier of the Year.
The Public Company CFO of the Year Award is presented to a chief financial officer for outstanding contributions to his/her public company's performance and accomplishments from January 2005 until present. Finalists for this award include: Jeffrey Babka, NeuStar, Inc; Judith Bjornaas, NCI, Inc.; Stephen Hughes, SRA International, Inc.; Arthur Locke, MicroStrategy; and Paul Saleh, Sprint Nextel.
The Private Company CFO of the Year Award is presented to a chief financial officer for outstanding contributions to his/her private company's performance and accomplishments from January 2005 until the present. Finalists for this award include: Jorge Forgues, iDirect Technologies, Inc.; Wesley Husted, Abraxas Corporation; Alan Stewart, ICF Consulting Group, Inc.; Patrick Walsh, iBiquity Digital Corporation; and Tom Weston, Apogen Technologies.
The Financier of the Year Award is presented to a venture capitalist, investment, merchant or commercial banker who has contributed to the economic development of the Greater Washington region's technology community. Finalists for this award are: Arlington Capital Partners; Tom Peltier, Stifel, Nicolaus & Company, Inc.; and In-Q-Tel.
The winners will be announced at the Greater Washington Technology CFO Awards banquet on June 7, 2006, at the Hilton McLean, 6:00 to 9:00 PM.
