Astea Reports First Quarter 2006 Results

    HORSHAM, Pa., May 12 - Astea International Inc. (Nasdaq: ATEA), a global provider of service management solutions, today released financial results for the first quarter of 2006.

    For the first quarter ended March 31, 2006, Astea reported revenues of $3.9 million compared to revenues of $3.8 million for the same period in 2005. Net loss for the first quarter was $2.2 million or $.63 per share, compared to a net loss of $749 thousand or $.25 per share for the same period in 2005. License revenues were $125 thousand compared to $598 thousand in 2005. Total service and maintenance revenue increased 18% to $3.8 million, resulting from the addition of services and maintenance from FieldCentrix, which was acquired in September 2005. Astea continues to maintain a debt-free position and a strong working capital ratio.
