MEDIA, Pa., Nov. 29 -Santa won't have to deliver a few special presents this year, as more than a dozen local organizations in the Philadelphia region have joined together to send local soldiers "Free Holiday Hugs." Through the efforts of Pennsylvania Institute of Technology, The American Red Cross, CBS Channel 3, The Brandywine Conference and Visitors Bureau and many other companies, family and friends of a soldier overseas may film a completely free video message that will be sent to the soldier.
These video messages can feature an individual or a group such as family or co-workers. Those interested in creating a holiday "video hug" can schedule an appointment by calling Pennsylvania Institute of Technology at 800-303-6981. Residents from throughout the Tri-State area are invited to participate, and video dates include December 13, 15, 17, 20, and 22.
Participants should bring the soldier's e-mail address to the filming. All video e-mails are produced on the Institute's campus at 800 Manchester Avenue, Media. The location is convenient to SEPTA and several major highways including I-476, known as the Blue Route. For more information visit the P.I.T. Web site at http://www.pit.edu or call 800-303-6981.
