CAMBRIDGE, Mass., Sept. 8 -CoreStreet, Ltd., a leading provider of infrastructure and applications for smart credentials, today announced the promotion of Salvatore D'Agostino to vice president of sales. D'Agostino has been vice president of physical security and in that role was responsible for several of the company's relationships with major physical access OEMs.
"Sal has been driving CoreStreet's efforts in the physical security industry and many of these companies will be introducing CoreStreet-enabled products in the near future," explained Libin. "The opportunity now is to accelerate the design and deployment of converged security systems by working with all of our partners and customers."
In the U.S., one of the drivers of convergence is Homeland Security Presidential Directive 12, which requires that federal government employees and contractors be issued a smart credential to use for access to their buildings and their computer systems.
Globally, electronic passport, border control, national ID programs, and other initiatives are driving large-scale smart credential programs that will need CoreStreet-enabled products and technology.
"In order to support the growth here and abroad, we are creating a new structure for the company that ensures that we're able to remain responsive to customers and partners," said Libin. "We're proud that Sal will be heading up sales activities and overseeing our relationships with customers, including our OEM licensees, as well as technology partners and integrators."
"By working with our partners from the two worlds of physical and IT security, we believe we can help accelerate not only the pace of deployments but also the use of the identity services infrastructure approach to converged security systems," said D'Agostino.
Before joining CoreStreet, D'Agostino served as CEO of Computer Recognition Systems, Inc., where his customers and projects included physical security for the U.S. Capitol and EZ Pass, the electronic toll collection technology.
In addition to his CoreStreet responsibilities, D'Agostino is active in several industry organizations. He serves as executive director of the Open Security Exchange, which focuses on ensuring that converged products and services reach their promise of greater security and convenience, and is the chair of the Intelligent Transportation Society (ITS) of Massachusetts.
