     Booth 1000

BOSTON, VON 2005, Sept. 20 - Ditech Communications Corporation (Nasdaq: DITC), a leader in the development of voice processing solutions for communications networks, will showcase its Border Services Solutions this week at the Voice on the Net (VON) 2005 show in Boston. Ditech's Border Services Solutions combine its Packet Voice Processor(TM) and PeerPoint session border controller to make IP communications a reality in the service provider environment. Ditech Communications is a premier sponsor of the VON Fall 2005 exhibition and will be located in space #1000.

Ditech's Border Services Solutions are being designed to bring together Ditech Communications' advanced media processing capabilities and award winning session controller to provide the industry's most complete solutions for VoIP borders.

Packet Voice Processor: Ditech Communications' Packet Voice Processor is an advanced voice processing system designed to enable carriers to deploy universal transcoding and toll-quality voice services at the borders of their VoIP networks. The Packet Voice Processor is integrated with Ditech's Voice Quality Assurance (VQA(TM)), a comprehensive set of voice processing and network measurement features that address a wide array of issues in packet- based transmissions, providing optimized voice quality for VoIP networks. The Packet Voice Processor is currently available only for customer trials.

PeerPoint Session Border Controller: Ditech's PeerPoint Session Border Controller (SBC) helps carriers connect diverse equipment, traverse firewalls, operate in "NAT" environments, reduce bandwidth costs, and ensure comprehensive security features to prevent DOS attacks.

"As service providers embrace IP communications to offer a broader bundle of services to their customers, issues surrounding the multiplicity of peering formats with other carriers, comprehensive network security, and service assurance emerge as great concerns," said Chalan Aras, vice president of marketing for Ditech Communications. "The need to deliver predictable service quality over a wide variety of end-user devices across diverse access networks exacerbates this challenge. The IP border is the most effective location in the carrier network to address these issues in order to deliver these exciting services in a cost-effective manner."

    Hear the Difference

Ditech will use its VON 2005 exhibit opportunity to highlight its Border Services Solutions and visitors to the Ditech Communications booth (#1000) will have an opportunity to listen to examples of calls made with Ditech's Packet Quality Assurance(TM) (PQA(TM)) technology. In addition, as part of the equipment demonstration, Ditech will feature the Empirix Hammer FX IP test platform which will be used to generate end-to-end VoIP calls with simulated IP WAN impairments using the Empirix Network Emulator platform through the PVP and the same product will be used to generate voice quality scores. Listeners can hear the dramatic difference on the improved calls and observe the voice quality measurements from the Empirix Hammer Voice Quality Test platform.
