Event Web Site Handles Registrations and Sponsorships for
Disneyland Fundraising Walk
SEATTLE, Oct. 10 -GoTech announces the successful completion of its third year handling online registrations and Web donations for Children's Hospital of Orange County (CHOC) in Orange, California for their annual fundraising Walk. GoTech's custom Web-based registration tool handled over 11,500 registrations and processed contributions leading to over $900,000 raised from this year's event. The web site provided an all-in-one resource for the Walk, with sections for participants, sponsors/donors and teams. Participants were able to manage their fundraising efforts from an easy-to-use Web interface, including a real-time graphic showing progress toward the fundraising goal. Those wishing to sponsor a walker could do so online using the easy walker look-up system with the amount credited toward the fundraising total of that individual. Teams were created and managed online, allowing for stress free coordination of these groups of walkers.
"We saw a 70% increase in online registrations and a 59% increase in online sponsorships over last year. That is a reflection of the ease-of-use of the site. Our participants enjoyed the flexibility the online fundraising tools gave them," said Nicole Boudreau of the CHOC foundation, responsible for organizing the Walk.
The online system also accepted donations, handling not only the credit card transactions, but also the record keeping and reporting needed by the hospital. The CHOC/Disneyland Resort "Walk in the Park" benefits the Kids Care Fund -- a general fund benefiting clinical care, advancement, research and education at CHOC and this event is a significant part of their annual income.
The GoTech staff built and supported the system throughout the last six months of preparation for this year's event. The team focused on what would be user-friendly for an event staffed mostly by volunteers, but still robust enough to provide the high-end processing and reporting expected to pull it all together.
