TALLAHASSEE, Fla., Aug. 31 -As part of its continuing efforts of community involvement, Infinity Software Development Inc., a Tallahassee-based information technology consulting and software development firm, recently sponsored a "Back to School" Drive for underprivileged students. Infinity spearheaded the drive with support from Bealls Department Store and with the administrative assistance of a local nonprofit foundation, Hometown Charities, Inc. The event benefited 30 boys and girls from the Florida Baptist Children's Homes by providing them with backpacks stocked with school supplies as well as clothing and shoes for the upcoming school year.
"This is a great opportunity to give back to the community and help out young students," says Tom Lynch, CEO and founder of Infinity Software Development. "It's also a great opportunity to work in partnership with Hometown Charities, who put together the entire event."
Eleven Infinity employees as well as staff from Hometown Charities were on hand at the event to help the students pick out their new clothes and shoes. Each child was able to "shop" throughout Bealls Department Store with Infinity paying for the purchases. Guardians or foster parents were also invited to enjoy the day and lend a helping hand.
Infinity is one of the largest private employers in the Tallahassee area with a staff of more than 200. The firm is actively involved in community service, sponsoring such events as the annual Wine Fest for the March of Dimes and Celebrate Seniors, a fundraiser event to benefit Elder Care Services. Hometown Charities, Inc., as a charitable foundation, facilitates charitable giving by providing donors like Infinity with free services that help them give what they want, to whom they want, the way they want. Hometown Charities provides every penny of the donor's contribution directly to the beneficiaries and also offers various administrative services to assist donors.
