Master System Controller Software to Manage and Control the TCZ 900X
BREA, Calif., Aug. 31 -MTSI, Inc.(R), a leading IT and business solutions provider, today announced the successful implementation of the Master System Controller (MSC) software for the TCZ 900X, a thin-beam crystallization tool for flat panel display manufacturing. TCZ GmbH, a joint venture of Cymer, Inc. and Carl Zeiss SMT designed the TCZ 900X to improve the throughput and reduce the cost of laser crystallization for LTPS (low temperature poly silicon) display manufacturers.
MTSI engaged a team of IT experts to design, program, test and support the MSC software. The controller is designed to provide complete flexibility and adaptability to meet the evolving production needs of TCZ systems. In addition, the software flexibility will aid in process optimization as the user is able to adjust multiple parameters throughout the production process.
After evaluating several vendors, Cymer selected MTSI based on several criteria including: MTSI's expertise in providing critical software technology, its proven track record for developing high performance software, and MTSI's ability to rapidly respond to their customer's ever-evolving needs. By meeting stringent quality requirements through its unique MTSI Unified Program Methodology (MUPM) -- a derivative of the industry accepted Rapid Application Development (RAD) methodology -- MTSI's management team was able to meet the accelerated four-month development deadline on time and on budget, thereby providing TCZ Systems with the ability to execute their aggressive go-to market strategy.
"Our implementation benchmarks allowed MTSI to execute to Cymer's accelerated timeline and stringent quality metrics during each development phase," said MTSI president Ganesh Balasubramani. "We are extremely pleased that the TCZ Master System Controller software remained fully-functional throughout the lengthy demonstration and qualification process."
"To date, we have enjoyed several successful demonstrations of our beta system," said Brian Klene, president and CEO of TCZ. "The MTSI recovery and correction features in our master control system help increase the functionality of the TCZ 900X and we are thankful for the dedication of the MTSI team to deliver this solution on time," Klene noted.
The TCZ 900X is an innovative production tool for fabricating flat panel displays. Leveraging proprietary light source technology from Cymer and the known expertise in optics and precision engineering of Carl Zeiss SMT, the TCZ 900X is designed to improve the throughput and reduce the cost of laser crystallization for LTPS (low temperature poly silicon) display manufacturers.
