Sterling Commerce Earns Rosettanet Ready Badge For Business Integration Solution
Compliance and interoperability expands customer supply chain capability, lowers cost of global trading network connectivity
Columbus, Ohio, February 2, 2004
Sterling Commerce, the world's leading provider of business integration solutions, today announced that it has earned a RosettaNet Partner Interface Process® PIP 3A4 RosettaNet ReadyTM Software Compliance Badge for its business integration solution.
The RosettaNet Ready Software Compliance Badge signifies that Sterling Commerce has rigorously tested its software, Gentran Integration Suite version 3.0, and that it is compliant with published RosettaNet specification PIP3A4 V02.02.00. RosettaNet PIPs are open standard, system-to-system XML-based dialogs that define electronic business processes among trading partners. PIP3A4 describes the XML format and business rules for purchase orders.
"We are gratified to earn another RosettaNet Ready Badge in our ongoing effort to fully support the growth of RosettaNet electronic business standards," said Sam Starr, president and CEO of Sterling Commerce. "Successful compliance testing provides our customers with the confidence that our software is interoperable and supportive of information exchange with an unlimited number of business partners - a definite advantage in today's highly collaborative business environment."
Sterling Commerce's involvement with the RosettaNet consortium began in 1999. Since that time, Sterling Commerce has taken a leadership role in RosettaNet, becoming a member of the RosettaNet Solution Provider Board, and by providing the Chief Technologist for RosettaNet, Suresh Damodaran, a Sterling Commerce senior software architect.
"Solution providers that drive compliance and interoperability in the industry help their customers expand supply chain capabilities while lowering costs around connecting with partners across the global trading network," said Jennifer Hamilton, RosettaNet president. "We are pleased to acknowledge Sterling Commerce's commitment to this effort as demonstrated by its RosettaNet Ready Compliance Badge accomplishments."
Developed with the collaboration and expertise of leading high-tech companies worldwide, including Ingram Micro, Cisco Systems, Compaq and Hewlett-Packard, RosettaNet drives collaborative development and rapid deployment of Internet-based business standards, creating a common language and open electronic business processes vital to the evolution of the global high-technology trading network.
The Sterling Commerce solution for RosettaNet, Gentran Integration Suite, is designed to help companies exchange data with current and future trading partners by implementation of a fully integrated e-business infrastructure. Its modular design permits incremental progression from basic supply-chain transactions management to more sophisticated business integration as needed, making business process technology migration less disruptive and more ROI-friendly.
