Dell Announces Computer Deals, Xbox 360 Availability for Thanksgiving Holiday ShoppersDell.com Prepped for Online Rush Beginning TuesdayRound Rock, Texas, November 21, 2005
Dell is helping U.S. consumers get a head start on the holiday buying season with online deals for select InspironTM notebooks and DimensionTM desktops, and the launch of a new Web portal for gamers featuring the availability of Microsoft's long-awaited Xbox 360TM gaming console.
Beginning today, shoppers can visit the new Dell Gaming Center portal at www.dell.com/gaming and purchase Xbox 360 gaming consoles bundled with games and accessories while supplies last. From Wednesday through Nov. 27, Dell will offer $599 Dimension E310 desktops, $399 Inspiron 2200 notebooks and $299 Dimension 3000 desktop computers.*
"One of our busiest online shopping periods begins right before Thanksgiving," said Tom West, Dell's marketing director for home and small business. "The trend is clear that more consumers are shopping online from the comfort of home versus fighting congested parking lots and crowded checkout lines."
The specially priced computer systems are designed to handle entertainment, productivity, Web and multimedia applications. The Dimension E310 brings excellent horsepower to consumers with an Intel® PentiumTM 4 processor and a 17-inch flat-panel monitor. The Inspiron 2200 is equipped with integrated wireless and 14.1-inch display; and the Dimension 3000 configuration includes a 17-inch CRT monitor. The latter two systems will be bundled with a free color printer, Microsoft's Windows® XP Home Edition operating system and a 90-day limited warranty*. Upgrade options are also available.
The Dell Gaming Center provides easy access and navigation to purchase Dell XPSTM 600 and XPS M170 computer gaming systems, gaming consoles, and accessories and software ranging from gaming joysticks to multiplayer and role-playing titles. Downloadable PC games are also available from the Dell Gaming Center to make it easy and quick to install and play games without leaving home.
With the recent move to accept PayPal payments, Dell is also giving customers another convenient payment option to purchase computers, electronics and accessories throughout the holidays.
