Detroit Groups Host Session on Public Relations in a Web 2.0 World

DETROIT, Jan. 28 // -- Trying to keep up with the changing technology that can help get your message out? Two Detroit professional organizations are teaming up to present a luncheon session on "The Changing Face of Public Relations -- PR in a Web 2.0 World."

    Attendees can learn how to stay ahead of Web-based technology and innovations, including RSS, social media (blogs, podcasting, etc.), search engine optimization, Web analytics and using multimedia online. Presenting will be Michael Pranikoff, director of emerging media for PR Newswire.

    Pranikoff will discuss what's on the horizon regarding online communication and will present a real-world example that demonstrates how new media technology was embraced as a key component in a communication plan. His presentation will be geared to the novice as well as experienced users of new technology.

    The luncheon is scheduled from 11:45 a.m.-1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 19, at the downtown Detroit Courtyard Marriott, 333 E. Jefferson (across from the Renaissance Center). It is sponsored by the Detroit chapters of the International Association of Business Communicators and Public Relations Society of America.
