Will Continue to Seek Injunctive and Declaratory Relief to Prevent
Directors from Stripping SulphCo's Shareholders of their Rights
RENO, Nevada, Jan. 24 // -- Dr. Rudolph W. Gunnerman, the former CEO and a director of SulphCo, Inc. (Amex: SUF) ("SulphCo"), as well as the Company's largest shareholder, today responded to the counterclaim filed by certain members of the Board of Directors of SulphCo in the Second Judicial District Court of the State of Nevada. Dr. Gunnerman previously filed suit against these directors to prevent them from stripping shareholders of their right to decide what bylaws should govern the Company by granting the Board of Directors the exclusive authority to amend, alter, add, rescind or repeal the Company's bylaws.
"The accusations in the counterclaim filed today by certain members of SulphCo's Board of Directors are without merit. I intend to vigorously defend myself against these baseless allegations and I will continue to seek relief from the court in my effort to protect the rights of all shareholders," said Dr. Gunnerman. "While the counterclaim makes a number of vicious, personal attacks, it does not explain why certain members of SulphCo's Board are trying to deprive shareholders of their rights. I strongly believe that the directors' self-serving efforts to entrench themselves and advance their own interests directly contradict their obligation to act in the best interests of all SulphCo shareholders."
