PASADENA, Calif., Sept. 12 -eHarmony, the Internet's premier relationship service, today announced the appointment of Gian Gonzaga as Senior Research Scientist. Joining eHarmony's team of leading researchers, which includes founder Dr. Neil Clark Warren, J. Galen Buckwalter, vice president of research and development, and Steve Carter, director of research, Gonzaga brings expertise in relationship, emotion and health psychology that will strengthen eHarmony's research capabilities.
The foundation of eHarmony's research program is Dr. Warren's 35 years of empirical and clinical research into marital success. Dr. Warren's findings form the basis of the company's patented Compatibility Matching System(TM). While the company's research efforts continue to evolve and expand, Dr. Warren's goal of helping relationships succeed remains unchanged.

Prior to joining eHarmony, Gonzaga worked with world-renowned marriage researcher Dr. Thomas Bradbury at the University of California, Los Angeles, where he researched the factors predicting marital success as part of an 11- year study of married couples. Additionally, Gonzaga owned his own consulting business, where he conducted health promotion research and published studies for the California Department of Health Services and other non-profit health organizations. Gonzaga has taught, presented, and published extensively on topics relating to relationships, love, and health and has received numerous honors and awards for his work, including the prestigious National Science foundation minority Predoctoral Fellowship and Psi Chi National Undergraduate Research Competition. Gonzaga holds a doctorate in Personality-Social Psychology from the University of California, Berkeley, and a bachelor's degree in psychology from Gettysburg College in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania.
