Museum to Host Environmental Family Event: E-COOL-OGY

CHICAGO, June 4 /-USNewswire/ -- To celebrate the opening of Cool Globes: Hot Ideas for a Cooler Planet, The Field Museum will host the family event E-COOL-OGY on Saturday, June 9, 2007 from 9:30 am to 12:00 pm. This outdoor program will teach children the important steps that they can take to help save our planet.

E-COOL-OGY will not only be educational, it will be packed full of fun. As families enjoy a guided tour among the globes, they will be serenaded with live music performed by Joel Frankel. Green E., the environmental Elvis, will also make a celebrity appearance. Face-painting, frosting a globe cookie (to cool it) and prize drawings are just a few of the activities designed to teach kids that "it's easy being green!"-and fun, too!

The event will be held outdoors on The Field Museum's northeast terrace from 9:30 am to 12:00 pm. Tickets are $50 for adults, $25 for children and $165 for a family of five. Tickets cover general admission to the Museum, as well as all activities, entertainment, lunch and a farewell gift.

Cool Globes: Hot Ideas for a Cooler Planet was created as a public art gallery to educate the public on ways that can help stop global warming and help save our planet. Each globe was artistically designed to illustrate ways that can help save our world. Visit http://www.coolglobes.org for more information on this project.
