PASADENA, Calif., Jan. 10 // -- BBC AMERICA presented its new co-production, Clatterford, to critics at Television Critics Association press tour today, marking Jennifer Saunders' return to the channel. Written by and starring Jennifer Saunders, Clatterford is an affectionate comedy about a small town women's club that has more than its share of lovable eccentrics. The series also stars Joanna Lumley, who teams up with Saunders for the first time since they starred together in Absolutely Fabulous. Clatterford premieres Friday, March 9, 9:00 p.m. ET/10:00 p.m. PT.

In stark contrast to her role as Patsy, Lumley ages decades to play Delilah, an outspoken, eccentric old lady who rides a bike with training wheels around town. The cast also features some of the UK's most acclaimed comedy actors -- Sue Johnston (The Royle Family), Dawn French (The Vicar of Dibley), Pauline McLynn (Father Ted), Sally Phillips (I'm Alan Partridge) and David Mitchell (Peep Show). The executive producer is Jon Plowman (The Thick of It, The Office).
Clatterford is one of two brand-new BBC AMERICA comedy co-productions written by and starring Absolutely Fabulous creator and star Jennifer Saunders. The second, The Life and Times of Vivienne Vyle, is Saunders' take on daytime chat shows and will premiere later in 2007.
