TORONTO, Oct. 26 /CNW Telbec/ - In cooperation with Health Canada,
LC Creations LLC of Fairfield, New Jersey, is recalling the following
children's furniture lines: "Blooming Garden", "A Pirate's Life" and "Princess
in Training".
Health Canada's testing demonstrates that some of the colours used on one
of the products contain lead in excess of the allowable level as per the
Canadian Hazardous Products Act. Lead is toxic if ingested by young children
and can cause adverse health effects. No injuries or illness have been
reported to LC Creations.
Consumers are advised to immediately take the recalled items away from
children.
Approximately 1,200 of these products were sold at HomeSense stores
throughout Canada from August 16, 2007, through October 15, 2007. Although
Health Canada testing has identified only one of these furniture lines as
containing excess lead, LC Creations and HomeSense have taken the precaution
of removing all of these products from retail shelves, not just the one
tested.
