The 21st Annual SickKids Radiothon hits the airwaves March 28 to 30
TORONTO, March 26 - - Hearing is believing! For three incredible
days, March 28 to 30, The Hospital for Sick Children's Atrium will be
transformed into three radio stations, giving listeners a first-hand account
of the hope and courage of more than 120 patients and families who have come
to rely on the life-saving care provided at SickKids. Standard Radio and
SickKids are asking listeners across the GTA to open their hearts and tune
into The 21st Annual SickKids Radiothon on Newstalk 1010 CFRB, 97.3 EZ Rock
and 99.9 MIX FM.
Community support is what drives this event as listeners rally around the
hospital each year and embrace the stories from families and patients, while
raising much-needed funds for facilities, equipment and the recruitment of
staff, crucial to running a world-class institution.
For the first time, Newstalk 1010 CFRB will broadcast throughout the
evening until 10 p.m. on Thursday, March 29 allowing listeners a glimpse into
bedtime at SickKids, a hospital that never sleeps.
The Annual SickKids Radiothon is the largest and most successful in North
America thanks to the generosity and support of Standard Radio and Foresters,
the presenting sponsor. A record-breaking $3.5 million was raised last year to
help purchase equipment, and provide further research and educational
opportunities.
