"MetLife has always been committed to upholding the highest standard of ethical conduct in all that we do," stated Michael J. Vietri, CLU, executive vice president of MetLife's Agency Distribution Group. "Therefore it is with great pleasure that we sponsor the 2007 American Business Ethics Awards, to show both our appreciation to those in the field who strive for the best, and to illustrate our continued commitment to building and maintaining a strong ethical business structure."
Speaking for the Foundation, Board president Ward Anderson, CLU, ChFC, said, "We are extremely gratified that MetLife is supporting the Foundation as the exclusive sponsor of the 2007 American Business Ethics Award. It is a testament to MetLife that they have placed themselves front and center on the issue of ethics in American business. They have a proud history of leadership in our industry: their corporate mission has always been based on strong ethical principles and their associates always reflect the best of the financial services profession."
The ABEA award is presented to companies in three categories: large (more than 2,500 employees), mid-sized (250-2,500 employees), and small (fewer than 250 employees). A company may be nominated for consideration by a customer, client, employee, consultant, vendor or any person who believes that the company's ethics program is laudable. Financial service companies and non- profit organizations are not eligible.
Recipients of the 2007 ABEA awards will be recognized at a ceremony to be held at the Hilton Bonaventure in Montreal on September 26, the evening before the kick-off of the Society of Financial Service Professionals' annual Financial Service Forum.
