The products included in the coated metal material-based solutions product group are coil coated and electrogalvanized protective and decorative coatings for use as automotive body skins; metal building skins; appliance cabinets, including refrigerators, freezers, and other appliances; heating and ventilation applications; lighting fixtures; and metal furniture.

The EMD segment offers the transportation and consumer electronics markets with the field-effect sensor that may be implemented as a 5-volt, digital, software-free switch.

Products using the switch/sensor include interface control panels for fluid-level sensing devices for recreational vehicles and marine markets.

The company markets its products primarily through its sales and marketing organization, as well as through independent distributors, agents, and licensees.

Material Sciences Corporation was founded in 1971 and its principal executive offices are located in Elk Grove Village, Illinois.
