(CHI) provides products and services that support the health care industry.
It has four segments: Pharmaceutical Distribution and Provider Services (PDPS); Medical Products and Services (MPS); Pharmaceutical Technologies and Services (PTS); and Automation and Information Services (AIS). The PDPS segment distributes a line of pharmaceutical and other health care products to independent and chain drug stores, hospitals, alternate care centers, and the pharmacy departments of supermarkets and mass merchandisers located in the United States.
It also provides pharmacy management and related consulting services through integrated pharmacy management, consulting, temporary staffing and related services, and franchising of apothecary-style retail pharmacies to hospital, retail, and alternate-site pharmacies.
The MPS segment provides medical products and services to hospitals and other health care providers.
It manufactures sterile and nonsterile procedure kits, single-use surgical drapes, gowns and apparel, exam and surgical gloves, fluid suction and collection systems, respiratory therapy products, surgical instruments, and special procedure products.
The PTS segment provides technologies and services, including softgel capsules, controlled release forms, and Zydis fast dissolving wafers to the pharmaceutical, life sciences, and consumer health industries.
It also manufactures and markets generic injectible pharmaceutical products for sale to pharmacies in the United Kingdom, and provides manufacturing services for oral potent drugs and sterile dose forms in Europe.
The AIS segment develops, manufactures, leases, sells, and services point-of-use systems that automate the distribution and management of medications and supplies in hospitals and other health care facilities, as well as bedside clinical verification and patient entertainment systems.
CHI was formed in 1979 and is headquartered in Dublin, Ohio.
